An Unseen Fortune Saved My Aunt’s Life

After my parents passed away, Aunt Nancy became the new guardian of the whole family, keeping watch with the sharpest eyes I’ve ever seen in my life. Her strong work ethic and deep throaty laugh were just a few of the many reasons I loved her to pieces. We all relied so much on Aunt Nancy to have all the answers. So when my cousins rushed to my house one night to tell me our precious aunt just had a heart attack, I hoped someone would have some answers for me. Aunt Nancy came out of the ordeal just fine, but we had another problem: how to pay not only for the hospital stay, but the costly medication Nancy would have to take in order to go back to the sweet, all-knowing angel we were used to. However, the prescription drugs that we needed were not so easy to acquire cheaply. At first, we ended up all pitching in to pay for them, but it was getting harder and harder to be able to help. Fortune finally smiled on us — my babysitter heard about Aunt Nancy’s heart attack and mentioned being able to get prescription drugs right from a Canadian pharmacy. It would be a lot cheaper and we could get the same life-saving medicine our Nancy needed without the high cost. I went online and decided to give it a try, ordering a 90-day supply so we wouldn’t have to drive into town so much. The test went smoothly for us, and we started being able to save money again. Looking back, none of us would have ever guessed how much money we could save just by thinking a little differently. Aunt Nancy might not have all the answers anymore, but I’ve become pretty good at filling in the blanks.
